Integrated processes

Integration of micro-scale based reaction unit with downstream processing offers several advantages for process intensification. Examples of in situ product removal within two-liquid phase systems studied by our research group involve isoamyl acetate production (Žnidaršič Plazl and Plazl, 2009, Pohar et al., 2009, Novak and Žnidaršič Plazl, 2013), butyl butyrate synthesis (Pohar et al., 2012) and cholesterole biotransformation (Marques et al., 2010, Marques et al., 2012).
